Vladimir Putin said the US Democrats should accept and learn from their defeat in November’s elections, saying they should stop blaming external factors such as Russia.
Speaking in his year-end press conference, the Russian president drew applause by saying people around the world support his values, and swiping at Hillary Clinton’s performance:
Right up to the end, nobody believed [Trump] would win, except us.
The Democrats didn’t just lose the presidential election, but the House and the Senate as well. Did I do that as well?
He also implied that the US is not a military opponent, that while the US has stronger forces, the Russian army is “stronger than any potential aggressor.”
