Those thinking about traveling may want to buy right now and fly Virgin America a little later. The domestic airline is currently holding a 24-hour “Fly Forward, Give Back” fare sale, co-sponsored by social media network Twitter, as part of a back-to-school charity initiative.
Over the next 24 hours, Virgin America will donate $5 for every flight booked to the nonprofit Knowledge is Power Program Classroom Projects on DonorsChoose.org. The airline will donate up to $50,000.
To encourage you to book, fares for domestic flights are being offered for as little as $39, but check here for a breakdown of available discounts. Prospective fliers must book their flight before 10 a.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, Aug. 4 to take advantage of the low fares.
The other catch: You must travel between Aug. 24 and Nov. 17. Fall Flights can be booked on Virgin America’s website or by calling 1-877-FLY-VIRGIN (1-877-359-8474).
According to the press release, Virgin America encourages buyers to tweet about the fares “to help raise funds for educational causes.”
This started as a quirky post but quickly turned into something probably more useful. I admit the post is based on personal experiences. Luckily, I do not make these mistakes any more….at least not very often . Enjoy!
1) It is time to sell when…..you find yourself using extra technical indicators on charts to justify holding your position that you didnt use to get into it in the first place!
2) It is time to sell when…..you find yourself going to yahoo message boards to see if someone has some positive news that you don’t know!
3) It is time to sell when…..you find yourself justifying to yourself holding a position for fundamental reasons when you entered it for technical reasons!
4) It is time to sell when…..when you ask an “expert” on twitter or some blog to chart a stock checking for entry when you are already in it!
Let me know if you readers have any other such fun “indicators” and I shall add them
PepsiCo has apologized after it was accused of stereotyping women with an iPhone application for its Amp Energy drink helping users “score” on a date.
The app featured 24 types of women, including “nerd”, “foreign exchange student” and “treehugger”, and offered possible pickup lines including “Wasn’t I in Space Academy with you?” and “You know the Mona Lisa has no eyebrows. I wonder what else she shaves?”
Pepsi’s “Amp Up Before You Score” app prompted a storm of protest on Twitter, with commenters suggesting people drink Coke instead.
